Last summer, I was enthralled watching the talented photographer Lola Melani share her gorgeous portraits of pregnancy and motherhood. The beauty, power, connection, flowing and draped fabric was so enticing. When I learned that my lovely friend Victoria was expecting her first child, I knew I wanted to create beautiful portraits of her at this beautiful, powerful moment in her life and explore this incredible genre more fully. The shoot was a blast, with a fellow photographer friend "throwing fabric". We had fun sharing stories of motherhood and all it's joys and tribulations. A memorable day all around! When I saw the images coming onto my screen, I was thrilled with the results. I can't wait to meet her lucky little one when he or she arrives in the coming weeks.
Being able to capture images like this for people - images that will connect them with a special moment in their lives, long after time has marched it - is my honor and delight.
